Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what the Discord bots we operate collect, why, and how it's handled. One policy covers all of them — most of what's below applies equally to every bot, and anything specific to one bot is labeled as such. It also covers the Territorial Tools website (territorial-tools.pages.dev) where it stores information tied to your Discord identity.

1. Which Bots This Covers

This policy currently covers:

  • Territorial Casino — a guild-isolated bot for playing games using Territorial.io in-game gold.
  • Gator Points & Cults Bot — a bot for cult/clan management, win tracking, leaderboards, and reward roles.
  • Territorial Training Bot — a bot for Territorial.io strategy Q&A and saved-replay sharing.

If we launch another bot under Territorial Tools, we'll add it here rather than publish a separate policy — so this same URL keeps being the right one to check.

2. Information We Collect

Across all bots:

  • Your Discord user ID, the guild IDs of servers where you use a bot, and (where displayed back to you or admins) your username/avatar as provided by Discord's API.
  • Command inputs you provide (e.g. text you type into a slash command or modal).
  • Server configuration admins set up for a bot in their guild (channels, roles, limits, thresholds).

Territorial Casino additionally collects:

  • Your linked Territorial.io account name, and optionally a password — see Territorial Casino Passwords below.
  • Your per-guild casino balance and full transaction history (deposits, withdrawals, bets, wins, losses, refunds, fees, admin adjustments).
  • Gold-transfer records from a server-designated channel where a stats bot posts Territorial.io gold-transfer logs — already visible to anyone in that channel; we only parse entries relevant to matching deposits.

Gator Points & Cults Bot additionally collects:

  • Your linked Territorial.io account code (5 characters), set by a guild admin so wins can be credited automatically — this bot never asks for or stores a password.
  • Points, win counts, and cult/war/alliance membership and history within each guild.
  • Public match results scraped from territorial.io/clan-results — a page Territorial.io already publishes publicly; we don't access anything beyond that page.

Territorial Training Bot additionally collects:

  • Questions you ask it, so it can retrieve relevant strategy content and keep short-term conversation context (cleared with /reset).
  • Replay data you choose to save via /replay save or the "Save Replay" message command — the pasted text or attached file content, plus any title/description/date you provide.

None of our bots collect payment-card data, government ID, or precise location.

3. Territorial.io Account Linking

Two bots link your Discord account to a Territorial.io identity, in different ways:

  • Gator Points & Cults Bot — a guild admin links your Discord ID to your 5-character account code using /account_linking. No password is ever requested or stored for this bot.
  • Territorial Casino — you link your own account via /profile → Manage Link, with your account name required and a password optional. See the next section before providing a password.

4. Territorial Casino Passwords — Read This

Applies to: Territorial Casino only

Linking your Territorial.io account with a password is optional — you can link with just your account name and verify by manually sending 1 gold instead. If you do choose to provide a password, here's exactly what happens to it, in plain terms:

  • It is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM before being stored.
  • Unlike a login password hash, it is recoverable by the Bot — by design, because the Bot needs the actual password to call the Territorial.io API on your behalf (e.g. to pull a deposit you confirmed). This is not a one-way hash.
  • Encryption at rest protects the stored value if the database were stolen. It does not protect against someone with legitimate operator access to the Bot's infrastructure — that person could technically retrieve it, the same way any service operator could misuse credentials they store in recoverable form.
  • We recommend using a password for your Territorial.io account that you don't reuse anywhere else, precisely because of the above.
  • You can unlink or relink your account at any time via /profile → Manage Link. Unlinking does not affect your existing balance, which is owed to your Discord account, not the linked account name.

5. How We Use Information

  • To operate the feature you're using — balances and bets for Territorial Casino, points/wins/cults for Gator Points & Cults Bot, replay storage and Q&A retrieval for Territorial Training Bot.
  • To display results back to you and, where a feature is public (e.g. /balance, /leaderboard, /profile), to other members of that guild.
  • To detect and prevent double-spending, fraud, and abuse, and to let guild admins or bot owners investigate and resolve disputes.
  • To enforce freezes, suspensions, multipliers, and other configuration a guild's admins have set up.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

6. Sharing & Disclosure

  • Guild admins can see activity for players in their own guild only — never data from other guilds.
  • Bot owners can see cross-guild operational data where the bot's design requires it (e.g. Territorial Casino's owner account backs every guild's bank as fallback rails, so solvency and fee data is visible to the owner) — this is necessary to keep the system running, not a general audience for your personal activity.
  • Territorial.io receives the API calls a bot makes on your behalf (e.g. sending/receiving gold, or reading the public clan-results page) — see their own terms for how they handle that.
  • We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
  • We may disclose information if legally required to, or to protect against fraud or abuse of a service.

7. Data Retention

Financial ledger and transaction records (Territorial Casino) are kept for as long as your account has an active balance or history, and for a reasonable period afterward to support audits and dispute resolution — this isn't deleted on request the way a chat log might be, since it's a financial record. Points, wins, and cult data (Gator Points & Cults Bot) and saved replays (Training Bot) are kept until you or a guild admin removes them, or you request deletion — see Your Rights.

8. Data Security

Credentials that are stored (only for Territorial Casino) are encrypted at rest. Balance mutations happen inside database transactions with row-level locking, so a crash or race condition can't double-pay or double-debit. Where a bot requests Discord permissions like Message Content, it's used only for the specific feature that needs it (e.g. parsing a designated win-log or gold-log channel, or reading a message you've explicitly tagged the bot on) — never general conversation monitoring. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and this policy isn't a guarantee against all possible incidents.

9. Children's Privacy

Our bots are not directed at children. You must meet Discord's own minimum age requirement to use Discord at all, and Territorial Casino specifically involves wagering in-game currency, which is not intended for minors. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone below the applicable age. If you believe a minor has linked an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

10. Your Rights & Choices

  • You can unlink a Territorial.io account, or ask a guild admin to do so, at any time.
  • You can ask a guild admin, or a bot owner, to freeze your own withdrawals/deposits (Territorial Casino) if you want a break.
  • You can delete a saved replay yourself, or ask us to.
  • You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, or request deletion, by reaching out through the contact method below. Ledger history tied to an unresolved Territorial Casino balance can't be deleted until that balance is settled, for the same reason a bank statement can't be deleted while an account is open.

11. Third-Party Services

Our bots run on Discord and interact with Territorial.io's servers and public pages on your behalf. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy, and your Territorial.io account is governed by Territorial.io's own terms. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, either of those services.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our bots' features change, or when we add a new bot. Material changes update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use a bot after a change means you accept the updated policy.
